You can help women and children live free from violence.

Fundraising is an easy and rewarding way for schools, workplaces, community groups and individuals to support our vital work and make a real difference to the lives of women and children fleeing family violence.

Give Kris a Miss!

Ditch the Office Kris Kringle and help change lives.

Can’t face another year of pretending to love the discount store chocolates you know Janice at reception is re-gifting from Easter? Not sure what to buy Dave from Accounts who you haven’t spoken to since last year’s ugly tie ‘incident’?

This year, why not avoid the hassle of the office Kris Kringle and help change lives instead by joining safe steps’ Give-it-a-Miss-Kringle! Simply get your workmates together and pledge the money you would each normally spend on the office Kris Kringle and make a huge difference in the lives women and children escaping family violence instead.

It’s the simplest – and safest – Secret Santa ever!

The Bird Girls

For every woman killed by acts of violence in Australia, a faceless portrait will be drawn.

Artist Alisa Tanaka-King’s series The Bird Girls is a visual response to the shock and horror at the number of female deaths in Australia each year as a result of violent acts against women. For each woman killed by an act of violence in 2016, Alisa has drawn a beautiful, bird-embellished portrait.

Alisa is generously donating all proceeds from the purchase of each portrait print through safe steps and several other charity organisations.
