Organisations across Victoria are now recognising that supporting staff experiencing family violence, and enhancing their safety both at work and at home, is one of the key ways we can address the disadvantages that families face following an experience of family violence.
Accordingly, safe steps has developed resources and education activities to support employers to promote a workplace culture that raises awareness and ensures appropriate support is available for any employee experiencing family violence.
Our education team can assist workplaces by:
- Conducting an audit to ensure your workplace provides a gender equitable culture and environment for your staff, including policies and procedures that prevent and address the experience of family violence;
- Providing a template that supports the development of workplace family violence policies and procedures including family violence leave and workplace safety planning; and
- Providing training for managers on how to sensitively and effectively identify and respond to employees experiencing family violence while enhancing safety.
